Entry 3 - Experimental Shots
Mr Andrews recommended for us to take experimental shots for media arts, so Cindy and I shot some after the fete. I really wanted some key lights to be present in my shot as a symbol of "moon". Furthermore, my film is going to be shot at night, as the lyrics mentions moon, darkness, dark blue sky and night time.

Halfway through my photo taking session, I found out that my phone has a cool Pro setting, where I can shoot photos similar to the DSLR camera. This allowed to me to create more mood and a dark atmosphere. However, I think I underexposed the shots too much, as it looks too lonely. Or maybe, the underexposed the shots are okay, and I can gradually expose the shots, making the atmosphere lighter as time goes by.
The shots that I took are places that I have thought of using in my media film. I think the signs such as Stop, Restricted Area, Home and Keep Clear are really good shots to use as symbols. Maybe the girl can look around and have quick flashes of the signs as confusion.
I really want to stand on the keep clear bit while the cars are passing by, but I think that that'll be highly illegal. If it's not, I want it so that it appears as if a car is heading towards me, but I'll show this by using a flashlight.
I also really like the idea of using the telephone box. The telephone box will symbolise a personal space, a place of confinement. I also really like the 3rd last shot, where I see Cindy through the little crack in the telephone booth. I want to do a panning shot where I start off from there and then pan towards her back. Or, I want to do it so that I quick zoom into her face, which I could probably achieve through a transition.
I also really like the shot where I see my reflection. However, I'm not too sure how I could get my camera to not show in the shot. I could try doing it from a different angle, so that the reflected image is of me and not a camera.
For the security camera, I was thinking of making it as a graphic match with the moon, which would be a cool transaction.
I want to use the church as a setting, but I'm not sure how I'd incorporate it into my film. I mean, my film is about friendship. I don't think friendship relates with Church unless we're church fanatics.
