Entry 11- Bedroom
This lesson, I went and tried to design a bedroom that a boy would live in. My aim for the bedroom was something not too fancy, but something eye-catching at the same time.
To start off, I decided to go on a website that allows me to design whatever bedroom I want in a 3D form. <https://roomstyler.com/3dplanner> From there, I selected a pre-made room and then restyled it for myself. First of all, I didn't like the overly decorated style of the room, so I decided to get rid of them and add in some toned-down furniture such as a gray sofa and books. I also decided to change the bed, as it was too extravagant for a male teen. After mocking around with it for a while, I had to take a decision on an angle position for the room to take a photo from. I wanted most of the room to fit in, but not too much, and I wanted the bed to take up most of the space for the room, as I needed that for my main prop. After finally taking the photo that I needed, I started working on my tracing.
Before I started my tracing, I opened up a new document in Photoshop with the width of 1200, and the height of 1600. The dimensions of the document is a vital part of the drawing, as all my other backgrounds were also 1200 x 1600. For the tracing, I first dragged and dropped the photo that I took for my bedroom, and then dropped it on the Photoshop icon. After that, I selected the whole image, copied it and then pasted it onto the document that I created before. I then resized the photo to fill in the entire space using the transform tool. Adding a new layer on top of that image, I turned down the opacity for the original photo down to 50%, for me to see where my lines were. This time, while I was tracing, I drew the straight lines first by using the method in which I click the first starting point of the line, hold shift and then click the ending point of the line. This effectively decreased my time in which I struggled to draw round edges. I got to finish about 1/3 of the background today.
My progress in the making of the animation shows that it is most likely that I will have to work at home to finish my animation. Instead of making the six affected people die like I originally planned, I may change it to them living. That's all that I have done today.
