Entry 12 - Lyrics
While I was watching some music videos for the song, I came upon a song called Welcome to the Black Parade. From this video, I got the idea of using a TV screen to show an emotion that's not numb on the TV screen and emotion that's numb outside the TV screen. The TV will be a reflection of my true emotions and me watching it. Furthermore, since I'm trying to relate my outside activities to the "story", I'm making that appear on the TV as well.
I took 3 full videos of my lipsyncing the video today, so that I can just cut out the part that I need for me to fill in whatever shot I need. One's a high to low angle shot with me facing little space, one's a medium eye level shot and the last one's an extreme close up shot of my face. I used these three shots to create variety in my film. I could flip the high to low and extreme close up shot if I'm desperate for more shots.
I also was shooting this by myself, so I had to place a doll on the spot that I'd be in so that I can focus it to that and then start filming with me in it.
Since I didn't know the lyrics by heart, I had to put the lyrics video on the TV for me to read it.
I also put a red frame on top of my LED light, so that I can get the same type of colour I got when I was outside. Mr Andrews said the outside shot was moody, so I wanted to recreate that.
One thing I regret the most about these shots is my lack of mouth movement. The lyrics would have been delivered clearer if I had opened my mouth bigger.
