Entry 7 - Bridge
Today I shot the bridge scene.
The first scene that I took was the bridge scene. I saw it while I was walking around Australia, but I never knew that the lights would work that perfectly. The lights made this cool tone around me because the lights bounced back from the floor which was kind of blue. It added this cool atmosphere of the night for me.
1. Following the shot list, I filmed the long shot first. I love the leading lines of the shot because it narrows down towards me, making me look small when I first enter the shot. Furthermore, the light only shining from one side of the wall makes the shot really aesthetic because of the tonal difference on both sides. It also helps to create a shadow on the wall, which makes me look even smaller. There's also no key light shining on me, which makes me seem lonely.
I placed myself on the bottom line of third, closer to the middle because it looked better that way.

2. I repeated this using a medium long shot so that I don't have to use the same shot for a long time in my music vide.

3. The next shot was a following shot. I should have started the shot with the door opening and then me walking in, but since I didn't have time, I didn't do that. The shot is also kind of shaky, but I like it because it adds the reality to this shot. It's as if the world is crumbling around me. This also happened in suits, where Mike almost fought with Sidwell and it created a pretty tense atmosphere because it made it seem as if the cameraman didn't expect his appearance.

The light that is cast on my face is also good because it shows my facial expression. The light only being half lit on my face also makes it seem as if there's a light for a better future for me, but I'm facing the dark side.

4. This shot is a medium shot of me looking outside and then walking out. I am on the line of third and from a slight angle because of the aesthetics. I'm probably going to use this shot after a lyric shot because the lighting difference between the previous shot and this is too big. I'm also in the darkness, which can be a symbolic meaning of me being depressed.

5. This is a close-up shot of me still looking outside the window. I wanted to create negative spacing in this shot, so I added the least amount of my face in the frame. However, because there was no light where I stood, so I had to use the LED light underneath my face to make my face appear in it.

6. I took a canted shot. I don't really like this shot because I don't look great in it. However, it accentuates the feeling of confusion so I might use it if all comes down to worse.
The reason why I used a bridge is because I'm getting over my emotion, like the pun; build a bridge and get over it. I'm also looking outside the window in remembrance of my past. It's the memories, and usually in movies, people look outside when they're missing something.
