Entry 25- Start of Animation
Since I was all done with my images, the only things that were left for me to do were transforming the foreground jpg to png and making the actual animation.
After opening every single foreground, I used the magic wand tool to get rid of the white outer bits for every single JPG file and then saved it.
To start my animation, I inserted the photo of the closed eyes and duplicated it for 10 frames. Since I needed to draw a water drop scene, and I didn't have much time, I just decided to draw it in animation-ish. I first filled the background with black, and then coloured 1/3 of it light blue. I needed to use my bouncing ball memory and making the raindrop drop faster and faster each time. Once it reached the light blue section, I drew little ripples in each frame. This equalled up to 11 frames, 1.1 sec.
I then inserted the photos of him opening his eyes. For the background, I inserted the photo of the door, since it's reasonable that he'd walk out of his own bedroom.
I exported this as a quick time. That's my Scene 1.
I then got the images of my protagonist walking and inserted them into the app by order. After that, I duplicated the 7 images 12 times, which equalled up to 84 images, for 8.4 secs. I then clicked onto the background section and inserted the hallway background. I pressed the copy and move icon 83 times, to reach 84 individual photos of the hallway. I then added the keyframe tool to the first frame and the last time. I then used the move tool and moved the first frame to show 1/3 of his face and then moved the last frame to make him stop at the front of the bathroom door. After that, when the protagonist was walking in the mirror zone, I made the mirror reflect this black shadow every few frames, to show his inner depression. I also did this after he stopped in front of the door, to make it show that his depression side was slowly taking over reality.
I exported this as a quick time. That's my Scene 2.
Like I did for Scene 2, I imported the walking scenes and then duplicated it 5 times. I then added the full bathroom in the background. I added a keyframe to the first and the last frame. I made the first frame show 1/3 of his body and made the last frame stand in front of the mirror.
I exported this as a quick time. That's my Scene 3.
I imported the bathroomdude pictures, and for every few frames, I made the black dude pop up like I did for Scene 2. I added a keyframe right after the sleeping pill was shown and at the end. Using the move tool, I made the last frame zoom into the sleeping pills.
I exported this as a quick time. That's my Scene 4.
I imported the protagonist and the bathtub as my background. I made only 2/3 of the protagonists lower body to show. I duplicated the frames 10 times.
I exported this as a quick time. That's my Scene 5.
I imported a photo of the hands, erased the left hand, used the behind tool and coloured it in with skin colour. ( I'm not sure if I should have made the protagonist coloured or not so that I can make my animation related to racism as well, but I already came too far to recolour all my drawings.) I then added the sleeping pill, the cliche red and white pill, and duplicated the frame to 15. I added a keyframe at the start and the end of the animation. I used the move tool to make the hand not appear at the start of the animation and then moved the last frame so that the hand was right in front of the screen.
I exported this as a quick time. That's my Scene 6.
I imported a photo of my hands and duplicated it 10 times. I added a keyframe at the start and the end of the animation. I moved the first frame so that it wasn't in the film and moved the last film so that it was in the film. I then skipped 10 frames and imported a picture of the chair and added it in. Afterwards, I added a keyframe at the start and the end of the animation. I moved the first frame so that it wasn't in the film and the last frame to be right in the middle of the film.
I imported the black and white pictures of my protagonist walking. I added the chair as my background. I duplicated both of them until it reached 21 frames. I then added the keyframe tool to the first frame and the last time. I then used the move tool and moved the first frame to show 1/3 of his face and then moved the last frame to make him stop next to the chair.

I imported the picture of the metal cuff cuffing the protagonist pictures and his mouth gaping.
I exported this as a quick time. That's my Scene 9.
I added the photo of him handcuffed. I used the move tool to add a keyframe at the start of the animation and then added a keyframe after every 5 frames. On each keyframe, I moved it up and down. For the last keyframe, I made the legs move away from the film.
That's my Scene 10.
I imported the mother crying photos and him frowning and mouth opening photos. I duplicated the 2 photos of the mother crying until it reached 8 frames. I added a keyframe at the start and the end of it. I moved the first frame so that it wasn't in the film and the last frame to be right in the middle of the film.
I exported this as a quick time. That's my Scene 11.
I imported a photo of the protagonist being handcuffed again. I then drew a red spear drew it out of the frame. I duplicated the frame turned on the trace and moved it a bit by bit while repeating the duplication until it pierced the protagonist. This is a metaphorical representation of how his mother felt after he committed suicide, and how he's feeling it in return as a "punishment". I also made him spurt out blood. I then added the leg handcuffs, and the red spear piercing through it, to show it from his POV. I imported the photo of his open mouth expression and made blood drip out of it.
I exported this as a quick time. That's my Scene 12.
I repeated what I did for Scene 12 on all my affected people, while adding another spear each time, without the close up of his face and the legs. Afterwards, I added the close up of his face, him opening his mouth and then made him cry, by drawing tears in every single frame of the 5 frames he was close up for. I then zoomed in on his mouth.
I exported this as a quick time. That's my Scene 13.
As I finished all my animation scenes, I had to put them in iMovie and edit them.
I put all my scenes in chronological order after converting them into a mp4 file. To start off, I added freeze scenes in the scenes where I deemed were too short, as I couldn't see the full animation.
Afterwards, on places that I deemed to need sound effects, I added them in. Since movie had a small range of sound effects, I had to download some from youtube through youtube to mp3 converter.
I added in all the necessary punch lines into my animation using a black screen and the title editor in iMovie. I also repeated the Scene 1 for the ending.
That's the end of my animation.
