Entry 15 - More scenes

Today we filmed some scenes.

The first thing that we filmed was her running towards the camera. We only fixed it so that she stopped after running down the stairs. I also started from the stairs this time and ran backwards, instead of starting from the bottom of the stairs. This created a cooler shot as I was literally copying her moves this time. People kept on walking past, so we had to reshoot it several times before we got it right.

We then shot an over the shoulder shot of the map and the key, to show the viewers that she is indeed searching for an exit. Just in case people did not, we zoomed in towards the edge of the map, where it states, "Search for the exit." I then moved the camera upwards towards Sarah's face to show her troubled expression. The one shot take came out smoother than I thought, and it looked great. The cool thing about the map is that it's drawn so that it looks like mind map instead of an actual map, which is a play of the idea of her being trapped in her own mind.

After that, we shot the scene where she flinches and closes her eyes and then opens it back up after a while. This time, I walked closer to her face to really capture her facial expression of confusion once she realises that Satan is no longer there.

We also shot the scene where she turns back towards Satan again. This time, we made it so that she looks back, turns back, looks down at the map and then turns back again. This way, we can just cut and put the scene where there's the empty pathway right after where she looks back and then continue on smoothly, instead of having choppy different positioned shots of the same scene.

Moving on, we shot the scene where she wakes up. We first started up with an extreme close up shot on her face to show her eyes opening suddenly and then zoomed (walked backwards) to a medium shot where she looks down at the map and key in confusion. The only thing that I would like to change is the camera not being able to follow her speed of getting up, but we didn't have enough time to refilm that part, so we just left it.

We shot the scene where she gets up from a different angle, so that we can see that she gets up and runs off. It also shows that she's in a different motivation now and is no longer confused, so I thought that I should be stable. It would have been better if she ran off the frame, but as I mentioned before, we did not have enough time to check and evaluate our shots.

That's all we did this after school.
