Entry 16 - More scenes

Today we borrowed lights and tripod from the art centre and filmed our remaining scenes.

The first scene that we retook was the scene where I come closer to her. Instead of having choppy shots, instead we would take one smooth shot where I just come closer to her and stop and then edit and cut out parts to seem as if I "teleported" in a smoother manner.

The second shot that we took was the scene where Sarah ran up to the door. We placed the camera so that we could see her running from the outside building to the front of the door in a long shot. Sarah also stopped right in front of the door to give that sense of tension of what might happen next, as she found the exit.

The third shot was just her walking towards the door. We used a low position camera for this to get a medium close up shot of her feet walking towards the light that's shining underneath the door. We made light shine from underneath the door by placing a bar light behind the door, so that it seemed as if there was something good, like heaven, on the other side.

The fourth shot that we took was a low to high angle shot of her looking down at the light in a confused manner. It would have been weird to film from any other angle, as we wouldn't really be able to tell where she's looking at.

The fifth shot that we took was her opening and slamming the door at satan when he started to come closer to her. This was shot using a medium shot just enough to show Satan walking from a far place but enough to show Sarah opening and slamming the door on satan in a close view, cause that part is really important. Satan just "missed" his chance of killing her.

The sixth shot that we took was a canted shot of the door being knocked while Sarah is on the other side and then her sliding down after the knocking stops. We decided to use a canted shot to show her distressed emotions. The sliding down then shows her relief. The way the light becomes brighter as she slides down shows that the path towards her destination has "opened" up for her.

The seventh shot that we took was of her just walking down the hallway towards the light. This was done by Sarah holding a bar light while walking and me following behind her in a slow manner, cause it's the BIG moment. We used a medium shot for this to show the surroundings and to show how slowly she's actually walking.

The last shot that we took was a close up shot of her opening her eyes on the bed, which correlates to our opening scene of her opening her eyes.

WE'RE DONE FILMING!!!!!
