Entry 11- Photos

Today I started taking photos for my Media Art Assignment. I first got changed into a plain black tank top with school black sports shorts to keep the dark colour scheme for my movie poster. I asked Stephanie for help on shooting my photos. I wanted one long eye-level shot and one long high-low shot. I didn't really have a specific positioning plan for my movie poster yet, so I wanted to keep my options open. We had difficulties in taking a high to low shot because of the lack of height, but we somehow succeeded after tip-toeing for more than a few minutes. I spent more than 30 mins on my shots (Nobody was after me) as we couldn't get the right photo. It was either too high or too low.

Another problem that I thought of while taking photos were the shadows. I didn't have a clear understanding of shadows yet, so if I did sit on a mountain corpses, I had no idea where the light would come from and where the shadows would be. I'm planning to research on that next lesson and final draft my whole design.

I encountered another problem while taking out the green from my photos as the colour selection kept on selecting some of my legs. The colour selection also (somehow) kept on selecting my skin, even after I selected the green several times. In the end, I inverted my selection so that it selected the green parts instead of my skin. I am planning to work on my assignment over the weekend as I have a lot to work on.

The tutorial that I used is on blackboard.
