Entry 17- Shadows
This lesson, I added shadows on spots that I needed to work on and erased the unnecessary bits that I forgot about. The shadows were crucial for the mountain of corpses, cause the photoshop that I did as of now, seemed as if I stuck a photo on top of a photo, which is not very appealing and unrealistic, in my opinion. Since I didn't really know anything about shadows, I googled person sitting on the mountain, to use it as a reference.
Like always, I added a blank layer on top of the layer that I needed shadows for, coloured the areas that I reckoned the shadows would be, erased the edges with a 5% flow to blend it in with the surroundings, and then lowered the opacity of the layer. I repeated this step on areas where I wanted the shadows to be darker. The shadows the corpses part was extremely hard as the shadows did not look natural at all. In the end, I added some shadows inside the mountain of corpses, so that it seemed as if the corpses were actually stacked upon one another.
That's all I did for today.
