Entry 14- Some touch-ups and Horns
Today I decided to go further into detail with my existent corpses (I need to make more). I wanted the clothes to actually blend in with the skin, so I decided to use the clone tool and blend it in so that it looked natural. The problem with this was the cloning tool and the masked layer. Since there are two layers of the clothes, if I clone the "duplicated/unoriginal" layer, it wouldn't clone. If I were to clone the "original" layer, it wouldn't show. The way I fixed this problem was by cloning both layers, in order to achieve the "merged" layer that shows the clothes blending in with the skin.
In addition to the touch-ups, today I wanted to start working on myself. I first wanted to add horns onto the top of my head, just like Maleficent, except, directly onto my hair, unlike her horn cap. I tried achieving this by searching up photos of horns, and adding it on both sides of my head, then transform warping it so that it looked natural and was in the right position. My first horn, however, turned out to be unrealistic anatomy wise, as horns usually don't grow on the side, so I had to search for another photo, that showed the frontal side, instead of any other sides. I did the same for this, the puppet tool, the transforming and etc. I aligned the horn near my hairline and left some hair at the front, in order make it seem as if the hair was growing out at the front. The horns felt more natural and unified with the whole picture, but the shadows were far off from reality, so I'm planning to do that next time.
