Entry 15 - Props
This lesson I made some fake marriage documents and obituaries.
I searched up marriage documents on google and just got rid of the part where it said the name of the bride and groom for the documents with the names on. I did this by copy and pasting the blank paper part of the document and then pasting it on top of the names on the app, Preview. I then printed these documents out and tried writing it in cursive with a pen that had a similar tone/colour to the pen used on the documents.
For the obituaries, I searched up, obituaries newspaper, on google. I then got rid of the names with the same method as before. I saved the newly created obituaries onto my desktop and then added them to pages. Through pages, I wrote the names of the ex-husband's names on top of where the names previously were. I then changed the font to match the font on the newspapers. For one of the obituaries, I had to photoshop a photo of another man on top, as the obituary was Marilyn Monroe's.
At home, I made the box with the evidence.
I first rolled up the marriage document inwards, so that the marriage document cannot be seen. On top of that, I rolled the obituary outwards from the opposite side of the name so that it can be seen with the name on top. I then tied a string around it. I repeated this for the remaining and then placed all of them in the box.
The reason why I rolled the obituary and the marriage document together is to make it more reasonable for the husband to find out that she murdered her ex-husbands. At first he'll find that the femme fatale has collected some obituary and then he'll open it to find that the groom's name of the hidden marriage document inside matches with the dead person on the obituary.
For the box, I double crossed the string and then tied a ribbon on top.
I made a prop and costume box at home. It includes:
Box with obituaries and marriage document with rings
Knife
Document Files
Handcuffs
Glass
Camera
2 tripods
Yarn
2 suits
2 coats
