Entry 12 - Bedroom
Today we wanted to film the attic scene, but Sarah wasn't here so we decided against it. Instead, we filmed the bedroom scene in the room right of the central hall. We could only film for 30 mins because of unforeseen circumstances such as massage or changing time. Therefore, we couldn't shoot from different angles and positions as much as we did last time. We also lowered the exposure this time, because we forgot it last time. I really hope the lighting doesn't seem too off when we're editing.
The first shot that we had to do was Dayna running inside the room. We only did this in one way, which was her running out of the frame. It took us 5 mins to get the lighting right, as we wanted some type of shadow on the wall from her running. We shot this shot 3 times; 2 times because Dayna couldn't hear me say go and the other one was alright. The refrigerator is also in the background, but I don't think we can do anything about it unless we shoot one from behind her.
The second shot was of her running towards the wall and sliding down. We shot this two times, but I don't really like both of them as the camera movement isn't smooth. They're both panning shots. If we get to film next time, I want to do one still shot and one where she slides down the wall.
The third shot was of her getting the photo book out of the box. The box said fragile on it, which was nice, as it symbolised that her memories with her parents were fragile and had to be treasured with care. This was also shot in a medium shot because we wanted a graphic match/zoom shot of in the next shot.
The fourth shot was a close up shot of the box.
The fifth shot was of her opening the book and getting the photo out. We did this from different shots, as Dayna and I had opposing ideas. We had one from a medium close up shot straight from the side, one from a slight angle to the right and one from a low to high. One shot had her looking at a lot of frame space while the other didn't. I wanted two shots because I wasn't really sure whether she was vulnerable or powerful at that sense. She got the evidence of murder, but does that make her powerful? I mean, it's breaking her life apart.
We also forgot to the exposure for the other shots, so I really hope that doesn't affect our editing. In addition, some of the shots are blurry. Furthermore, since we didn't have a photo album, we had to film with a binder. I was thinking of writing photo album on it, but I thought that it would make our film appear kind of tacky.

We had few minutes to spare, so we just quickly did a scene where she opens the closet. The closet isn't in the room, but instead the living room, so we'd have to have a shot where she turns back and walks out of the frame and flip the shot for the closer vertically so that it matches.
We did a close-up shot, medium shot close-up shot and a shot behind her back for her opening the door. We didn't actually take out anything from the closet because we didn't have the jacket that Sarah had.

We need to take the sound out for all the shots as there were people talking in every shot. We also need to come back to film the remaining shots, but that's all we did this lesson.
