Entry 24 - Editing
I would write in great detail about my hatred towards Final Cut pro, but I will not, cause they have great filters.
Anyways, Final Cut Pro was told to be good at Green Screening. It's not. Especially when the Green Screen is a Yellow Screen. After trying to work with Final Cut Pro for two lessons, I gave up on it, and moved towards the use of Green Screen app on the iPad.
For the scene where they're running away, I had to find create the moving background on anitmation-ish. After getting the wallpaper that I wanted to use for the hallway, I found a png of a wall lamp and photoshopped the wall lamp into the wallpaper. Afterwards, I imported that photo into animation-ish, created a long strip of hallway wallpaper by copy and pasting it next to one another. I then duplicated this frame until I reached 120 frames. I added a keyframe at the start and the end. I then used the move tool to move the hallway so that it seemed as if it was moving. I exported that file to my USB.
For the introducing scene, I got a wallpaper that I wanted and acquired some victorian looking paintings. I went to keynote, layered the paintings to go where I wanted them to go, and then added drop shadow effects. I took a screen shot of the finished products
After green screening every one of my videos, I sent them back to my computer.
On final cut pro, I added the desert filter for every single one of them. For the Jane Death scene, I added a cross hatch and aged paper filter as well. I added colorizing for the Edward killing scene to change it to red and black. I also added the fade filter as well. I added a glowing transaction scene at the start and end of the Jane death scene. I exported this file to my USB.
On my USB, I added some freeze frames to add dramatic effects on some parts, and edited the song to match my video. I added a intro and the outro. I tried my best to not abruptly stop the song. That's all that I did for this assignment.
