Entry 22 - 7, 8 & 9
Scene 7:
In this scene, Edward finds a mysterious book at the end of the hallway. He curiously walks towards it.
I didn't want Edward to just walk straight down from the middle to the diary, instead, I made him walk from the corner towards the diary, to have this narrowing down effect. I also really liked the idea of him appearing from out of screen to the inside of screen, as all my other scenes started off from the screen. The slight head movement at the end of the scene shows his curiousness towards the diary. I took a photo every time I moved him.
I had to scotch tape the diary down, because it kept on opening up.
Scene 8:
In this scene, I decided to give a dramatic moment between Edward and the diary. I also wanted the viewers to know that it was a diary, so there's a big DIARY on the book. After setting up the camera to where I wanted it to go, I took some screen shots for both Edward and the diary.
I then moved the cabinet frontwards and Edward backwards for the opening scene of the diary, as if I didn't, my house would be shown. The opening of the diary was extremely hard to take as the diary kept on moving everywhere. In the end, I scotch taped it down for every frame. I then made Edward's hand move upwards, so that it seems as if he is surprised.
I took a photo every time I moved something.
Scene 9:
This is the scene where Jane dies. Since I didn't have much time, I had to scrape the fire idea, and just make her commit suicide. Since the idea of her hanging herself would be too gory, I just decided her to commit seppuku.
This scene was fairly easy to take, as she just had to move around everywhere in quick motions. That meant that I didn't have to move her a bit by bit every time. I also repeated some frames. Her face getting right up on the camera is her kissing the "lover" she once had. Her dramatically falling down is her begging her lover not to go.
For her committing suicide, I simply used my locker key and taped it on to her hand. Since people normally use two hands for this, I just taped the tape around both of her hands as well.
